....Frowns at the overreach to sidestep democratic norms

....Pushes for Dr. Olumuyiwa Adu's nomination as Ondo Central Senatorial Candidate

An Ondo socio-political organisation with grassroots networks to promote second term ambition of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,  has lent its voice to the ongoing agitations for the winnable candidates in  Ondo State.

The group made this advocacy through a Press release signed by its Spokesperson, Chief Ige Jongbo, a veteran Broadcaster and respected opinion moulder.

This is against the backdrop of the developments that have raised concerns by the Tinubu's promoters ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Recently, the purportedly compiled list of anointed candidates for all the elective positions, without due consultations with party leaders at all levels- a move that can, if not well- managed, dis-unite our political family, jeopardize the electoral prospects of the party and draw the ire of majority of the party stakeholders and lovers of democracy. 

The group strongly frowned at this autocratic display of powers while appealing to Ondo State and national party leaders to intervene to forestall protest votes in favour of the opposition parties.

Democracy is all about inclusive participation; apportioning positions to friends to settle political scores or to cut political deals, without transparency, fairness and critical stakeholders' input may portend unpleasant judicial consequences and  anti- party tendencies.

The military- tactics under democratic ecosystem will stifle democratic growth, diminish loyalty, and dampen the morale of the electorate who are earnestly yearning for the consolidation of  accelerated development and sustainable empowerment that are being orchestrated under the "Renewed Hope Agenda" of our hardworking President.

The group also urged the party leadership to consider Dr Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu "Cubana" who has sacrificed a lot to boost the party membership and enjoyed overwhelming support from electorate and party members.

"Barrister Adu is well- known and loved across the senatorial district for his unparalleled philanthrophy and practical leadership that affect lives positively. He has influenced tens of thousands of interested  citizens to join the ruling party with his personal resources. 

The Ondo Central senatorial residents comprising artisans, students, drivers, market women, community leaders and elite groups among other eligible voters opined quite correctly that Dr. Barr.  Olumuyiwa Adu "Cubana" has the needed grassroots appeal, competencies, empathy,  emotional intelligence, political experience and community approvals that can attract huge votes for the party at the polls.

The group further advised the leadership to subject the nominations of  individual aspirants to rigorous scrutiny and unbiased assessments in compliance with the 2026 electoral act as amended.

The group is poised, in conjunction with other lovers of democracy, to work assiduously for the electoral victory of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and all the APC candidates in the general elections as scheduled by the Independent National Electoral  Commission (INEC).
