Ondo State Golden Jubilee: Gov Ayedatiwa set to Honour the founding fathers

 



Just like yesterday, the creation of Ondo State clocks fifty years and the government of the State under Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is set to honour the founding fathers who fought for the creation of the state.  The government also announce special honours for the late Head of State, General Murtala Ramat Mohammed, who died ten days after  the creation of Ondo state.

The Governor said that those to be celebrated during the golden jubilee are the state’s first civilian governor, Pa Michael Adekunle Ajasin, Pa Reuben Fasoranti and other eminent personalities whose sacrifices and  laid the foundation for the growth and development of Ondo State over the past five decades.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa stated this during the world press conference held in Akure, the Ondo State capital, to officially kick-start activities marking the 50th anniversary of the state.

He said,  the  golden jubilee will provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the journey of Ondo State from its creation to the present day, while paying tribute to the past heroes  and the present whose vision, sacrifices and leadership laid the foundation for the Sunshine State.

He noted that the anniversary celebrations will not only highlight the state’s historical milestones but will also showcase its rich cultural heritage, developmental strides and future aspirations.

Governor Aiyedatiwa added that a series of commemorative programmes have been lined up to engage citizens at home and in the diaspora, reaffirm unity, and reawaken collective commitment to building a more prosperous Ondo State for future generations.

He called on the people of Ondo State to come out enmass to celebrate the golden  jubilee of the state creation.
